Daly City Public Library Express In-Person Services

The Daly City Public Library will reopen its four locations to the public the week of May 10, 2021 with a modified service model. The following services will be provided in-person at the library:

  • Browsing and holds pick-up
  • Walk-up pickup (by arrangement)
  • Reading recommendations
  • Limited research assistance (less than five minutes)
  • Computer use, one hour per day maximum (reservations recommended)
  • Printing, including mobile printing

*10-11 am Priority service for seniors and people with health concerns on Tuesday mornings at Serramonte and Westlake and Thursday mornings at Bayshore.
Libraries will close mid-day for 1.5 hours for cleaning and maintenance.

Library Visits

  • Each library has a maximum capacity based on library layout.
  • Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult parent/caregiver; children must be under adult supervision at all times while in the library.

Computer Use

Walk-up Service

  • Call at least thirty minutes before you arrive so we can prepare your holds.
  • Call when you arrive and are ready to receive your library materials.
  • A staff person will bring your holds to the door as time permits.

  • Silent study rooms and the Serramonte Community Room
  • Seating, tables, and computer workstations have been temporarily removed to facilitate physical distancing.
  • Book Sales and Free Cart and the acceptance of materials donations 
  • IDEA Lab and Zone afterschool activities
  • Group visits


Safety Measures

  • Masks/face coverings that cover both nose and mouth are required for all staff and patrons over two years of age at all times while inside the library. Masks will be provided if needed.
  • High-touch surfaces will be sanitized regularly by staff.  Wipes and hand sanitizer will be available to visitors.
  • Occupancy will be set at a reduced level to allow for physical distancing.
  • Seating, tables, and computer workstations have been temporarily removed to facilitate physical distancing.
  • Staff and visitors are asked to stay home if they’re experiencing symptoms of any illness.
  • Library patrons are asked to respect physical distancing guidelines and keep visits short.
