City Services During Shelter-in-Place Order
Neighborhood Parking Forums
Neighborhood Parking Forums have been cancelled. The City continues to offer an online, pinnable map where you can place comments on specific areas, like a road in your neighborhood. You can also take two online surveys - one for residents and one for businesses - about parking challenges and needs. Visit the online Parking webpage to share your opinion!
Daly City will not shut off any utility service unless requested by resident. The Finance Department will not be charging late fees or assessing interest on past due balances on utility bills. Utility bill payments are still due 30 days past the invoice date.
Garbage, Recycling & Compost Collection Continues
Republic Services continues to service your garbage carts on your scheduled collection day. Many Republic collection routes are synced with City street sweeping.
The Daly City Police Department and North County Fire Authority continue to provide emergency response. Please only dial 9-1-1 in emergencies. The dispatchers need to be able to keep the lines free to take priority emergency calls. Take advantage of the City's online crime reporting system for non-in-progress property crimes!
If an online report is not feasible, we may ask an officer to call you directly to make a report over the phone.
Parks & Playgrounds in Daly City
All park facilities and playgrounds are closed to the public. Residents are not permitted to congregate in any of these public areas for health reasons. You can still take walks to get fresh air! Just stick to your neighborhood. Do not travel by car to parks in other areas, including beaches.
Please remember, park facilities like restrooms and community centers will not be open. Recently, visitation to parks and beaches across the state has increased dramatically. Further closures are expected soon to limit crowds. The City will continue to reevaluate park closures over time and will keep you updated on this website. When walking in parks, please adhere to the following:
- Adopt the “Leave no Trace” philosophy. Whatever you pack in, pack out.
- Plan your visit; all restrooms, picnic areas, playgrounds, and community centers are closed.
- Practice social distancing outdoors, too. Keep 6 feet between you and others.
Daly City Libraries
Although our public libraries remain closed, a Daly City library card provides access to a host of online resources, from e-books and audio books, to streaming video, electronic magazines, and complete access to the New York Times. We encourage you to explore distance learning tools available electronically. Links to online resources are available on our e-Library page.
Get Your Library Card Online
If you are a Daly City resident and do not have a library card, you can secure one online by completing and submitting an application (PDF).
Virtual Recreation Center
With our programs being cancelled and our facilities being closed at this time, it is still important we continue to grow, learn, play and have fun! Visit our Virtual Recreation Center, where you can find a variety of resources for you, your family and friends to enjoy.
