Public Works - Transportation & Hauling Permits
A transportation permit is required for the operation of vehicles of size, load weight, or vehicle weight exceeding the maximum specified in the State of California Vehicle Code on certain City streets. A haul route permit is required to haul dirt or other materials on City streets. You can find information for Standards and Specifications online.

Public Works - Transportation & Hauling Permits
The property owner or the contractor performing the work must:
- Complete Credit Card Authorization Form (PDF), if needed
- Complete and submit an Encroachment Permit Application (PDF), including the identification and mapping of the transport route
- Pay applicable permit fees (PDF). On May 8, 2023, City Council approved the new Master Fee Schedule. Please see pages 11-15 for up-to-date Public Works Fees.
