The Field Operations Bureau is commanded by Captain Mike Brennan.
Career
Captain Mike Brennan started his law enforcement career as a police officer in March of 2000. In October 2003, Mike joined the Daly City Police Department, where he served as an Agent with the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force (SMCNTF), a Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), a Field Training Officer, a K-9 Officer, and a SWAT Team Member.
Captain Brennan was promoted to Sergeant in September 2012. During his five years as a sergeant, he was responsible for the direct supervision of patrol officers, became a SWAT Team Leader and Sergeant for the Crime Suppression Unit, and was assigned to the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) as a Task Force Officer.
In 2017, he was promoted to Lieutenant and held the assignments of Watch Commander in Field Operations, Investigations Commander, and Tactical Commander of the SWAT Team. As a Lieutenant, he had many responsibilities within the organization. In October 2023, he was promoted to the rank of Captain, where he oversees the Field Operations Division.
