Patrol Division B-2

Career

Lieutenant Edward Klier started his law enforcement career in 2001. In 2006, he joined the Daly City Police Department, where he served as a Police Officer. Ed worked as a Patrol Officer, Crime Suppression Officer, Special Agent with the San Mateo County Vehicle Theft Task Force and was a member of the SWAT Team. In 2013, he was promoted to Sergeant, supervising the Patrol Division and Detective Division. Lt. Klier was also a Team Leader on the SWAT Team. On November 3, 2023, Ed was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, commanding the Patrol Division B-2. 

Lt. Klier also oversees the Daly City Community Watch Program.

Education

Lieutenant Klier graduated from the eight (8) month-long Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute. The Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute is a program designed to stimulate personal growth, leadership and ethical decision-making in California Law Enforcement front-line supervisors.
