The City of Daly City contains one certified Opportunity Zone (OZ) in the Bayshore Neighborhood.

Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations (MEHKO)

The California Health and Safety Code was recently amended to establish a "microenterprise home kitchen operation" (MEHKO) as a new type of retail food facility. A MEHKO if authorized by Environmental Health Services (EHS) would allow EHS to issue a permit to an individual to operate a restaurant in their private home.

Small Business Commission

Daly City's Small Business Commission, composed of small business owners within the City, is tasked with helping business owners and entrepreneurs navigate the challenges associated with creating, owning, and operating a small business within the City. In particular, the Small Business Commission works to create a fair playing-field for small businesses in Daly City's highly competitive market through the reduction of market entry barriers, information asymmetries, and barriers to access finance and capital.
